COMPARISON

GovTribe vs GovExpress

By · · every claim below carries its source and the date that source was read

If your job is to find and track opportunities across federal, state and local, and grants in one place, GovTribe covers more ground than we do. Its catalog is published on a single page starting at $1,500 a year, its index spans three funding streams we do not touch, and its 4M+ contact records answer a question GovExpress does not attempt: who inside an agency or a prime you should be talking to. GovExpress is a narrower instrument on purpose. We score how ready a company is to sell to the federal government, we score compliance posture — public FedRAMP, CMMC, and SOC 2 signals — as one of twelve categories, and we keep vendor search free and unmetered. If you need pipeline breadth, GovTribe is the better buy. If you need to judge whether a company can carry federal work, that is the instrument we built.

Marks describe what each vendor published at the cited source on the observation date. "Not offered" means no public signal there — not proof that a capability does not exist. Found something out of date? Tell us and we will correct it.

02 — THEIR STRENGTHS

Where GovTribe wins

One index for federal, state and local, and grants

GovTribe covers all three in a single search. GovExpress is federal-only — deliberately, and for the foreseeable future. If your pipeline crosses into SLED or grant funding, we do not cover the ground GovTribe covers.

Contact data at a scale we do not attempt

4M+ contact records sourced through GovExec and Clearbit. We publish no contact database at all. If the question is who to call inside an agency or a prime, GovTribe answers it and we do not.

A published catalog you can size without a call

Launch at $1,500 a year, Launch Plus at $1,900, Growth at $5,000 a year for five users, Growth Plus at $6,000, and a custom Scale tier with 25,000-record exports. Bulk export is a real product there; we have none.

An MCP server

GovTribe exposes an MCP server, so an agent can query its data directly. GovExpress publishes no API and no MCP endpoint.

03 — OUR STRENGTHS

Where GovExpress wins

A compliance registry, not just award history

GovExpress scores Compliance Posture as one of its twelve categories, from publicly observable FedRAMP, CMMC, and SOC 2 signals, with verified status and self-reported claims kept visibly distinct. GovTribe's index carries none of that layer.

Company-level readiness scoring, not opportunity tracking

A 100-point score across 12 categories on any federal vendor — the company, not the deal. GovTribe tells you what is being bought. GovExpress tells you whether a company is built to sell it.

Published methodology

Our categories, our dollar-counting rules, and the limits of the score are public, down to how we annualize contract magnitude. You can argue with our math because we show it.

Free, unmetered, anonymous search

Vendor search on GovExpress costs nothing, needs no login, and is not metered. GovTribe runs a 7-day trial with no free tier behind it.

A full report inside a free window twice as long

Fourteen days of your own complete readiness report, PDF included, at no charge. GovTribe runs a 7-day trial with no free tier beneath it. Above the trial our Team plan is $499 a month or $4,990 a year — more than a GovTribe Launch seat, and published on the page just the same.

04 — THE DECISION

Which should you choose

If You work opportunities across federal, state and local, and grants, and you want contact records attached to them
Choose GovTribe. This is its job and it does it across ground we do not cover.
If You need to judge whether a company — yours, a partner's, an acquisition target's — can actually carry federal work
Choose GovExpress. Compliance posture, vehicle position, and public track record resolve into one score you can check our math on.
If You are doing both jobs
Run GovTribe for pipeline and GovExpress for diligence. Our search tier is free, so testing that split costs you nothing.
05 — QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

How much does GovTribe cost?

Launch is $1,500 a year for one user with 50-record exports; Launch Plus is $1,900; Growth is $5,000 a year for five users with 3,000-record exports; Growth Plus is $6,000; Scale is custom with 25,000-record exports. There is a 7-day trial and no free tier. Observed on govtribe.com/pricing, 2026-09-06.

Does GovTribe show FedRAMP or CMMC status for the vendors it profiles?

No. GovTribe's index covers contracts, grants, and contacts; it does not publish a compliance registry — FedRAMP, CMMC, SOC 2, or ISO 27001 — as data about the vendors in it. That layer is the reason GovExpress exists. Observed on govtribe.com, 2026-09-06.

Is GovExpress a replacement for GovTribe?

No, and we would rather say so plainly. GovTribe is an opportunity and award tracking platform with state, local, grant, and contact coverage we do not match. GovExpress is a readiness and diligence instrument. The two answer different questions and a serious capture team may want both.

Can I evaluate either product without talking to sales?

Yes, in both cases. GovExpress vendor search is free with no login and no metering. GovTribe publishes its full price list and offers a 7-day trial, so you can size a plan without a call — though there is no free tier once the trial ends.
